Author Guidelines

Biochemoinfo Journal supports authors in freely presenting their ideas and studies. Accordingly, while we allow considerable flexibility in article formatting, we also value the preservation of basic academic standards. To facilitate the review and citation process, we recommend using the APA 7 (American Psychological Association, 7th edition) style.

General Writing Guidelines
  • Language and Length: Articles can be written in Turkish or English. There is no strict word limit, but a length of approximately 5,000–8,000 words is recommended.
  • Font and Size: A standard font such as Times New Roman or Arial is recommended for readability. Use 12-point font for body text and 14 or 16 points for headings.
  • Line Spacing and Page Layout: Use 1.5 line spacing and a minimum margin of 2.5 cm on all sides. Short breaks can be left between paragraphs to preserve logical flow.
  • Headings and Subheadings: Sections such as introduction, methodology, results, discussion, and references should be clearly distinguishable. For more complex content, subheadings can help maintain structure.
Tables, Figures, and Appendices

Tables and figures mentioned in the text should be numbered sequentially and placed close to the relevant paragraphs (e.g., Table 1, Figure 1). If there are supplementary materials, they can be presented under the “Appendices” section at the end of the article.

APA 7 Style Citations and References

With the APA 7 version, there have been updates regarding author listing and DOI/URL presentation. Our journal expects in-text citations and reference formatting to comply with this standard.

  • In-Text Citation:
    • Single or dual-authored works: (Author & Author, Year)
    • Three or more authors: Use “et al.” from the first citation: (Author1 et al., Year)
  • Reference List (APA 7):
    • For sources with 2 to 19 authors, list all author names.
    • If there are 20 or more authors, list the first 19, then add an ellipsis and the final author's name.
    • DOI numbers (if available) should be shown in the format: “https://doi.org/xxxx”
  • Example Book Reference:
Author, A. A. (Year). Book Title. Publisher.
    https://doi.org/XXXXXX (if available)
  • Example Article Reference:
Author, B. B., Author, C. C. (Year). Article title. Journal Name, Volume(Issue), page range. https://doi.org/XXXXXX
