1. Editorial Pre-screening
After the article is submitted, the editor or the relevant section editor reviews the work for basic format and content compliance. Articles that do not comply with the journal's scope or have obvious formatting issues may be returned to the author(s) at this stage.
2. Reviewer Assignment
Articles found suitable in the preliminary review are sent to at least two expert reviewers in the relevant field. Double-blind In the system, reviewers cannot identify the article authors, and authors cannot obtain information about the reviewers' identities.
3. Reviewer Comments and Evaluation
- Reviewer Reports: Reviewers provide constructive criticism, suggestions for revision, or opinions regarding acceptance/rejection for the article.
- Confidentiality and Impartiality: Reviewers are obliged to keep the article content confidential and provide objective comments.
- Evaluation Period: Reviewers are generally asked to complete their evaluation within 2-4 weeks. This period may be extended depending on the scope of the article and the workload of the reviewers.
4. Feedback to Authors
After the peer review is completed, editor reports and reviewer comments are combined and forwarded to the author(s). Authors can make the necessary revisions to the article within the specified period and resubmit it. After revision, it is possible for the article to be sent for re-evaluation by reviewers.
5. Conclusion and Decision
- Accept: In line with the positive opinion of the reviewers and the editor, the article is made ready for publication.
- Reject: If the article is found unsuitable in terms of scope or quality as a result of reviewer or editor review, it is rejected.
- Additional Revision Request: In some cases, additional revisions or additional data may be requested for the article before publication.
